Crystal River Manatee Swim

Crystal River Manatee Swim

This was one of those life experiences that you won’t forget. If you do a Google search for Crystal River Manatee, you’ll find several companies that basically all do the same thing, and they take the boats out in the same areas. This activity is best in the colder weather because the manatees swim up into the river to stay warmer. We took kids out, and they give you a pool noodle to float on, a wet suit, and a snorkeling mask. You get on their boat, and they know how to spot where the manatees are. Our kids had several “touchable” distance to manatees – even though you’re not supposed to touch them. Definitely an amazing experience, and most companies take underwater photos of the whole thing. My youngest didn’t want to get in the water with them, so she and I watched from the boat, ate snacks, and had a great day (same price to watch as to swim). This was not a cheap day – $400 for 6 of us, but DEFINITELY worth it.
